Red Division
Runner-up
Congratulations,
Sharks!
The Sharks were on the attack in
Saturday’s Red Divisional meet as 68% of their swims saw
improvement. It was too much for the Victory Lake Piranhas
and was almost enough to catch the Kingsbrooke Sealions. In a
final score of 3950 (KB) to 3805.5 (DV) to 3759.5 (VL) the Sharks
edged out a 2nd place finish.
In
addition to the significant time improvement, the Sharks also set
24 new records – top in the league, and finished
4th in the Cybermeet. (The Cybermeet compares all
Divisional times from the 24 league teams and then indicates how
the points would have fallen out had all teams swam against each
other at once.) There were 39 swimmers that placed in the top
24 in the Cybermeet as well. This is the most the Sharks have
ever had! Way to go, swimmers!
Shark
relays also garnered top 4 times in the league. Taking all
relay times for the year, the Sharks had 9 teams place in the top 4
times for the entire season. Four of these relay teams
garnered the 1st place time for the season.
Awesome job, relay teams!
Coach
Aaron asked the Sharks to give their best and challenge the
predicted 3rd place finish, and they did! With
great coaching, hard work, and fast swimming the Sharks brought
home 2nd place.
We ended
the season with our Awards Banquet where we honored all the
Sharks. Many Sharks were also recognized for outstanding work
in the pool. All award winners are listed 9th issue of the
Sharkbytes (see the News tab above).
Sharks,
great job on a fantastic season. We can’t wait until
next year!
